<dc:description>This paper looks at the situation of Indochinese refugees in the United States and analyzes the government programmes for them as well as their adaptation. The research concludes that the majority of refugees are able to become employed, leave public assistance and increase earned income to place themselves above poverty within two years of arrival, with refugees from advantageous backgrounds and/or small households more likely to achieve these ends.</dc:description>
