<dc:description>This paper provides an introduction to the experiences of one particular type of monetisation, asking how it affects food security. It seeks to answer the question of whether monetisation is a more effective tool for enhancing the food security of destitute populations than more traditional forms of food aid such as food for work, school feeding or even more direct feeding interventions, and if so, at what level and how does the food sale and the proceeds from that sale translate into food security for the poor.?</dc:description>
