<dc:description>The issues that this paper presents are centred around the fact that television is the medium from which most individuals receive information regarding conflicts. For this reason people need to understand that the coverage of conflict in television news has not motivated them to think of solutions. On the contrary, television news has created the impression that conflicts are unsolvable; and it has contributed to the creation of negative stereotypes that have aggravated conflict situations. This paper is a reflection about why this has happened, by presenting the problems of television news, while searching for a path for television news to become involved in conflict resolution.</dc:description>
