<dc:description>This study explores the theory and practice of peace education and how this contributes to NGO peace-building interventions in war-torn societies. Drawing from field research, the author considers how effectively peace education has sought to tackle the complex causes of war in Sierra Leone. In doing this, the author highlights the pivotal role that education plays as both a cause and a cure for war and demonstrates the need to focus on new adult peace education programmes as a long-term preventative measure.</dc:description>
