<dc:description>This report is the product of research on the level of accessibility to education in the Wajir district sought by Oxfam GB's Wajir office after the Mid-term review of its Pastoralist Development Project in 1999. The study attempts to assess causes of inaccessibility to education [and] suggests possible and realistic intervention measures and creates an understanding for all stakeholders to forge ahead... The report observes in its findings among others: - Enrolment in the district has been in decline for some time; the gross enrolment rate reveals that there are few children in school as compared to the total population; and, there is low completion and promotion rates with serious gender disparity at both primary and secondary school levels.</dc:description>
