Albania: state of the nation 2003 Forced Migration Online (24276783) Migration, asylum and refugee law FORCED MIGRATION ONLINE INTERNAL POLITICS CRIME POVERTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POLITICAL CHANGE NON-POLITICAL CRIMES MIGRATION TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS This report gives an assessment of Albania's status in 2003, noting that although the political climate is calmer, and stability has been restored to most of the country, grave social and economic problems remain. Negative factors include endemic corruption and an inefficient public administration, an increase in organized crime, a weak judiciary, high unemployment, low production, severe environmental problems, and an ongoing energy crisis.
