<dc:description>This ICG report looks at ethnic minority politics in Myanmar, where an ongoing, gradual shift away from armed conflict towards more peaceful expressions of ethnic grievances has improved prospects for national reconciliation. This paper provides a general survey of key ethnic minority organizations, their grievances and aspirations (as voiced by their leaders), and the issues that unite and divide them. It also offers an assessment of their political capacity, individually and as a group.</dc:description>
