Disarmament and reintegration in Afghanistan Forced Migration Online (24276783) Migration, asylum and refugee law FORCED MIGRATION ONLINE PEACE BUILDING ARMED FORCES DISARMAMENT REINTEGRATION INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE ELECTIONS DEVELOPMENT AID This report analyzes Afghanistan's political landscape, arguing that domination by armed parties and individual commanders is still the principal obstacle to implementation of the political process that was agreed at the Bonn conference in late 2001. Further disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of former commanders and fighters into society is necessary before the adoption of a new constitution, judicial reform, and elections can take place.
