Darfur rising: Sudan's new crisis Forced Migration Online (24276783) Migration, asylum and refugee law FORCED MIGRATION ONLINE PEACE EFFORTS CONFLICT NATIONAL SECURITY LEADERSHIP MEDIATION INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS This report looks at Sudan, where the rapid onset of war in its western region of Darfur in 2004 has created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises - thousands dead and some 830,000 uprooted from their homes. The report argues that it is urgent that peace talks succeed and that, simultaneously, a parallel process begins to address both the humanitarian and political crises in Darfur.
