<dc:description>Corruption in emergency relief is a huge challenge for humanitarian agencies. It can potentially undermine the effectiveness of their interventions and ultimately lead to the loss of lives. Such an environment is present in Sri Lanka. This case study explores perceptions of corruption amongst beneficiary populations, with the aim of informing strategies that seek to reduce corruption in humanitarian assistance. It is based on a research trip in April 2008, in which individual and group interviews were carried out with key informants and beneficiaries affected by the 2004 tsunami and/or the conflict.</dc:description>
