<dc:description><p dir="ltr">This dataset contains all fire, meteorological, and fuel moisture variables aggregated to ecoregions of the western U.S. over May-October, 2001-2024 for Kalashnikov et al., (2026) published in Science Advances "Heatwaves enable wildfire activity in the western United States". Fire data was sourced from MODIS-burned area product, while meteorological and fuel moisture data were sourced from gridMET. In both cases, the data provided herein are zonal statistics of gridded data within each ecoregion. Data are provided as daily totals aggregated to United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Level III ecoregions.</p></dc:description>
