Anonymized Dataset Supporting the Study of NR3C1 Exon 1F Promoter Methylation and mRNA Expression in Post-mortem Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex Daniel Ramos (21628346) Epigenetics (incl. genome methylation and epigenomics) Neurosciences not elsewhere classified Psychiatry (incl. psychotherapy) Gene expression (incl. microarray and other genome-wide approaches) NR3C1 gene glucocorticoid receptor DNA methylation gene expression suicide <p dir="ltr">This dataset contains anonymized individual-level data supporting a retrospective post-mortem case-control study of NR3C1 exon 1F promoter methylation and total NR3C1 mRNA expression in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (Brodmann area 9).</p><p dir="ltr">The dataset comprises 26 individuals from northern Mexico: 13 individuals who died by suicide and 13 non-psychiatric controls matched by age, sex, and post-mortem interval. The included variables comprise study group, sex, age, post-mortem interval, NR3C1 expression measurements obtained by reverse-transcription quantitative PCR and normalized to B2M, and regional NR3C1 exon 1F promoter methylation percentages determined using methylation-sensitive restriction enzyme quantitative PCR.</p><p dir="ltr">The methylation assay targeted a 264-bp region encompassing part of NR3C1 exon 1F and its immediately upstream promoter region.
