<dc:description>
This dataset contains the derived data supporting the study of long-term changes in vegetation responses to drought across China from 1983 to 2022. The dataset includes the maximum vegetation–drought correlation (Rmax) and the corresponding optimal SPEI accumulation timescale (Topt), calculated using kNDVI and NIRv under 17-year and 21-year moving-window settings. Rmax represents the maximum positive correlation between vegetation activity and SPEI across multiple accumulation timescales, while Topt represents the SPEI accumulation timescale corresponding to Rmax.

The dataset also includes derived classifications of water-deficit- and water-surplus-dominated regions used in the study. Raster data are provided in GeoTIFF format at a spatial resolution of 0.1°
</dc:description>
