In this study, several forms of a <i>LINE-1</i> transposon were transiently overexpressed in IMR-90, WI-38, HeLa, and HEK293T cells, and overexpression was verified by reverse transcription followed by endpoint PCR, reverse transcription followed by quantitative PCR, or by a retrotransposition assay.
