<dc:description>
Gyalidea lluxitensis Flakus, Suchan, Plata & Rodr. Flakus is a saxicolous freshwater lichen known from submerged granite rocks in subnival Humid Puna vegetation at 4877–4898 m in the Bolivian Andes. The combined molecular dataset, based on ITS, nucLSU and mitSSU sequences, was aligned and analyzed using maximum-likelihood (ML) and Bayesian inference (BI) approaches. Both analyses recovered G. lluxitensis within Gyalidea with strong support, demonstrating that the molecular evidence is consistent with its morphological placement despite its atypical ascospore characters. The research was conducted within the project “Eco-evolutionary studies of environmentally sensitive fungal symbioses in freshwater ecosystems using high-throughput sequencing and assessment of their resilience to climate change”, funded by the National Science Centre, Poland (NCN), grant no. 2021/43/B/NZ8/02902.
</dc:description>
