The original dataset was derived from the road surface type dataset developed by Liu et al. (2026), which covers 50 African countries. The newly added dataset consists of road surface types in 60 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and the Caribbean, which was developed as a supplement to this study, bringing the total coverage to 110 low- and middle-income countries.
