<dc:description>
This dataset supports a spatiotemporal analysis of shoreline change in Mobile Bay, Alabama, from January 2000 to December 2024, using satellite-derived shoreline positions along shore-normal transects extracted from Landsat imagery with the CoastSat toolkit by Vos et al., 2019. The study quantifies long-term shoreline change rates, short-term shoreline displacement, and shoreline persistence to characterize erosion and accretion patterns across the estuarine and barrier island environments of Mobile Bay.

The dataset includes extracted shoreline vectors, shore-normal transects, region of interest (ROI) shapefiles, shoreline position time series, Time series of shoreline and tidally corrected shorelines, End Point Rate (EPR) results, and Hurst exponent outputs in the CSV files. Supplementary Python notebooks to the CoastSat toolkit that are used to collect NOAA Tide data for tidal correction, Hurst exponent analysis, and heat map generation. Supporting figures used in the manuscript are also provided. Shoreline positions were tidally corrected using NOAA tidal observations. Long-term shoreline change was quantified using the End Point Rate (EPR) method. In contrast, shoreline persistence was evaluated using the Hurst exponent to distinguish persistent, random, and anti-persistent shoreline behavior.

The analyses identify spatial and temporal patterns of erosion and accretion, including responses associated with storm events and areas exhibiting long-term shoreline stability. This dataset accompanies the manuscript "Spatiotemporal Analysis of Shoreline Change in Mobile Bay", submitted to Scientific Reports.
</dc:description>
