<dc:description><p dir="ltr">In this dissertation, we report a core RxLR effector secreted by P. nicotianae early during infection and acts as a modulator of host immunity by targeting host proteins at multiple subcellular compartments. We further reveal that the activity of PpRxLR4 is likely to be mediated by crucial IDR-associated AIMs encoded in this effector. In silico mutation analysis of SLiMs predicted damaging implications on structure stability and biological functions. There is still a need for experimental validation of these mutations in planta to further support the effector’s role in mediating protein-protein interactions and effector function. In silico prediction and Y2H screening of potential interactors for PpRxLR4 revealed autophagy-related proteins and growth and development proteins could likely be the partners for this effector.</p></dc:description>
