<dc:description>
MyWay Diabetes, developed by MyWay Digital Health, is an online platform that has been available in Scotland (as ‘My Diabetes My Way’) to people with diabetes and their carers since 2008. Since its development in Scotland, MyWay Diabetes has been rolled out in Somerset (as ‘MyWay Diabetes’), Greater Manchester (as ‘Diabetes MyWay’), and North West London (as ‘KnowDiabetes’) in England.

This study presents a qualitative analysis nested within a broader mixed-methods evaluation aiming to test the effectiveness of MyWay Diabetes. The current study set out to assess acceptability and implementation of MyWay Diabetes across diverse patient groups and clinicians in Greater Manchester, Somerset and North West London, UK. Included here are the anonymised interview and focus group transcripts.

This dataset comprises:

n=10 online interviews with clinicians representing services in diabetes care delivery across a range of healthcare settings, involved in either implementing MyWay Diabetes or referring to the service in their local area;

four online focus groups with n=27 people with type 2 diabetes using the MyWay Diabetes platform across the three regions in England.

The semi-structured qualitative interviews asked clinicians for their views about implementing and/or referring patients to MyWay Diabetes in their local areas. Online focus group discussions asked people with diabetes, who were current users of MyWay Diabetes, for their views and experiences about using the platform.

The Theoretical Framework of Acceptability informed data collection and analysis across both stakeholder groups, while Normalisation Process Theory guided additional analysis of clinician interviews to examine implementation processes.

Full consent was obtained from all participants prior to taking part in an interview/focus group. All participants consented to the anonymised dataset being deposited in an open data repository at the end of the project.
</dc:description>
