<dc:description>
This thesis investigates the
development of positively charged, mucoadhesive hybrid triblock copolymer
nanomicelles as an innovative ocular drug delivery system aimed at enhancing
the stability, solubility, and corneal retention of curcumin for anti-inflammatory
therapy. Amphiphilic copolymers were synthesized to form nanoscale micellar
structures capable of sustained drug release and improved ocular
bioavailability. The nanomicelles exhibited favorable physicochemical
properties, high encapsulation efficiency, and stability, along with excellent
biocompatibility and ocular tolerability. In vitro, ex vivo, and imaging
studies confirmed enhanced corneal penetration and targeted interaction with
inflamed ocular tissues, supporting their potential to address key limitations
of conventional ocular formulations. Overall, the findings underscore hybrid
triblock copolymeric nanomicelles as a promising and scalable platform for
effective ocular drug delivery with prolonged therapeutic action and reduced
systemic exposure.

Thesis is embargoed until 31 Dec 2028.
</dc:description>
