G. W. Leibniz and Jonathan Edwards on free-agency Marco Barone (2681026) PUREID: 678162107 The main goal of the thesis is to provide an unprecedented comparison and contrast between G. W. Leibniz's and Jonathan Edwards' respective philosophies of free agency. Without ignoring their differences, the thesis will expound and highlight the strong similarities between Leibniz and Edwards on important philosophical issues related to free-agency, such as freedom, necessity, contingency, and divine providence. More specifically, the first chapter will expound Leibniz's philosophy of free-agency, while the second chapter will discuss Edwards' viewn on the same topic.
