The study investigated the dispersal ecology of Anaphes nitens Girault (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae), an egg parasitoid used in the biological control of the eucalyptus snout beetle, Gonipterus sp. n. 2 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). The collection comprises four related datasets generated from field and laboratory studies. The first dataset contains pilot field dispersal experiments evaluating initial movement and recapture patterns of A. nitens following release under eucalyptus plantation conditions using mark-release-recapture techniques. The second dataset contains data from main field dispersal experiments quantifying dispersal distance and spatial movement patterns under field conditions.</p><p dir="ltr">The third dataset contains laboratory validation experiments assessing the effects of fluorescent dye marking on parasitoid emergence and survival prior to field release studies. The fourth dataset contains laboratory data investigating the effects of temperature on flight initiation behaviour of A. nitens under controlled conditions.
