<dc:description>
Salminus brasiliensis minimal reference pangenome graph with four chromosome-level haplotypes (two individuals: ARG-BRA):
Reference and alternate haplotype genomes from the Vertebrate Genomes Project (specimen from Argentina) were used to retrieve the pseudohaplotypes (principal and alternate) from the Upper Paraná River Basin fish (specimen from Brazil), including unplaced scaffolds, were used to construct a minimal pangenome graph for this iconic characid fish, with is obscured by taxonomic uncertainty as the validity of the S. brasiliensis nomenclature across the vast La Plata River Basin (including, Uruguay, Paraguay, Paraná Rivers, etc). It captures genome-wide variation for variant calls and other downstream applications, such as short-reads mapping and mitigation of reference bias for new low-cost genomes. It uses VGP's Hap2 (principal assembly, RefSeq reference sequence - NCBI GCF_030463535.1) coordinates system.
</dc:description>
