<dc:description>High-affinity humoral responses to infection and vaccination critically relies on the ability of B cells to capture and process antigen for presentation to cognate CD4+ T cells. However, the molecular composition of B cell endocytic and intracellular trafficking pathways remains poorly understood. In this thesis I present the first account of intracellular trafficking receptor, SorLA, in immunity. Together, my results provide novel evidence of SorLA’s interaction with the BCR, role in BCR uptake, downstream BCR-antigen trafficking to proteolytic lysosomes and peptide-MHC II presentation, and in modulation of immune responses in vivo.

Thesis is embargoed until 31 December 2028.</dc:description>
