Explaining participation in insurgency in Balochistan, Pakistan: trajectories and patterns of radicalization Tufail Ahmed (17688501) PUREID: 633514425 Baloch Balochistan insurgency in Balochistan Baloch insugents This thesis explains why people have joined insurgent groups and participated in violence during the fifth wave of insurgency in Balochistan from 2000 to the present. Specifically, it focuses on why and how only a small number of Baloch individuals have become radicalized and participated in insurgency/violence, with even fewer engaging in extreme violence (suicidal insurgency),while many others, despite similar conditions and influences, have not.
