<dc:description>This thesis comprises a systematic literature review investigating the effect of animal-assisted therapy for anxiety and pain in hospitalised children and a research paper comparing the effects of endovascular thrombectomy versus intravenous thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke. Findings from the systematic review suggest that animal-assisted therapy significantly reduced the hospitalised children’s self-report anxiety although increased their heart-rate compared to controls. The original research paper found that those in the thrombectomy group were performed significantly better in terms of delayed memory compared to the thrombolysis group with a large effect size.</dc:description>
