Description: This dataset contains 35 files in total. There are 22 anonymised qualitative interview transcripts generated as part of the 2023–2024 pilot study evaluating the feasibility and acceptability of co-located welfare benefits advice (WBA) in three East London health and community settings (an NHS clinic in Site 1; a children and family centre in Site 2; and an integrated community centre in Site 3), targeting families with disabled children and/or children under two years of age in Tower Hamlets and Newham. Remaining files are extended data: ethics forms and data sharing agreements; consent forms; particiant information sheets, interview questions, supplementary table.

The 22 interview transcripts are chosen from the broader study sample, which consists of 55 parent interviews and 12 stakeholder interviews. This curated subset directly supports the qualitative findings presented in the related publication. The 22 transcripts include: - 13 parent/carer transcripts, drawn from families with a disabled child and/or a child under two years old who attended a welfare benefits advice appointment across the three sites; - 3 welfare benefits advisor transcripts, representing advisors delivering the co-located service across the three pilot sites; - 6 referrer/clinician transcripts, including community paediatricians, therapists, health visiting leads, and other practitioners who hosted or referred families to the WBA service.

The dataset also includes two thematic maps setting out the coding themes, definitions, and supporting examples developed during analysis, illustrating how the three main themes of co-location, access and trust; feasibility conditions including language and cultural barriers; and financial agency, parental identity and family wellbeing were derived from the transcript data. 1. Data collection: Parent interviews were conducted by telephone. Parent participants were contacted approximately three months after their initial WBA appointment; interviews took place between August 2023 and May 2024. Professional stakeholder interviews were conducted near the end of the project period via Microsoft Teams. All interviews followed semi-structured topic guides informed by the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability (Sekhon et al., 2022), the implementability framework of Klaic et al. (2022), and previous evaluations of co-located welfare advice services (Naven et al., 2012; Price et al., 2023). Topics covered background and household circumstances, work and financial situation, experience of and referral to money advice services, financial impact, and mental health and family wellbeing. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, anonymised, and checked for accuracy. Parents received a £25 shopping voucher on completion of their interview.

Anonymisation: All personal identifiers have been removed. Participants are identified using pseudonymous codes (e.g., PA, WB, RC: indicating parent, welfare benefits advisor, and referring clinician or practitioner, respectively). Indirect identifiers, including specific diagnoses, household compositions, and migration details, have been generalised where necessary to reduce re-identification risk.

Ethical approval: Ethical approval was granted by the UCL Institute of Education Research Ethics Committee (REC1757) and the NHS East London Foundation Trust Governance and Ethics Committee (GECSE G2302d). Participants provided informed consent for participation and for their anonymised data to be used in research.

Access conditions: Due to the material's sensitivity and the vulnerability of the participant group, the dataset is available under controlled access. Researchers must submit a data access request outlining their intended use and agree to data sharing agreement provided via a request to the UCL Contracts team. Data may not be used for any purpose beyond academic research and must not be linked with other datasets for re-identification purposes.
