<dc:description>
This dataset contains the supporting data for the study "Beyond steady state: dramatic fast retreat of waterfall knickpoint following the Chaiwen River capture, east China".

The dataset includes:

Coordinates of key field sites, including the modern knickpoint, the Shijiagou site, the Diyugou OSL sampling site, and the peat core site.

River longitudinal profile data extracted from the 0.5 m resolution DEM (Fan et al., 2018) for the Chaiwen River, with 5 m sampling intervals along the channel.

Calibrated model parameters and boundary conditions for the classic and modified stream-power incision models used in this study.

Model simulation outputs, including predicted knickpoint retreat positions, elevation profiles, and retreat rates over the past 33 ka.

Field-derived observational constraints, including dated river-capture and knickpoint-retreat ages and measured waterfall heights.

These data support the reconstruction of post-capture river evolution, the analysis of waterfall-knickpoint retreat, and the evaluation of the classic and modified stream-power incision models.
</dc:description>
