The UK’s COVID-19 Inquiry reports highlight that the impacts of pandemic restrictions on children’s wellbeing and development were not sufficiently considered, and that this particularly affected those that benefit from additional support. This report adds to this evidence base by summarising the findings of a survey on the impact of the pandemic on children with Down Syndrome under 11 in the UK. The survey ran from November 2021-February 2022, collecting data from 241 families about how lockdowns affected their children's health, education and development. We hope this report will provide the groundwork for future research and inform strategies to support children with DS moving forward.
