<dc:description>Hypertension health inequality across medical payment schemes within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: good health and well-being; SDG 10: reduced inequalities). Social determinants of health and medical payment schemes (UEBMI, URRBMI, SAP, SP and GS) shape economic accessibility, price signals, hospital tier and diagnostic level, and care pathways and adherence. These pathways lead to differences in economic burden (admission costs and out-of-pocket payments), progression from uncomplicated hypertension to heart, brain, and kidney complications, and ultimately all-cause and cause-specific mortality.</dc:description>
