<dc:description>
This dataset contains the aggregated data corresponding to Table 4 of the article "Influencer content consumption: emotional uses and perceived consequences among LGBTQ+ and heterosexual youth", published in Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (https://doi.org/10.1057/s41599-026-09328-9). The table reports levels of agreement with three emotionally oriented motivations for following influencers (to avoid feeling lonely, to forget one's problems, and to improve one's mood) by sexual orientation (heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, non-normative, and prefer not to say) and age group (14–17, 18–21 and 22–24 years), measured on a five-point Likert scale. Data were collected through a quota-based online panel survey administered to 1,800 adolescents and young people aged 14–24 residing in Spain between October and November 2024, with post-stratification weighting by geographic area, sex and age.
</dc:description>
