<dc:description>
This dataset contains the aggregated data corresponding to Table 5 of the article "Influencer content consumption: emotional uses and perceived consequences among LGBTQ+ and heterosexual youth", published in Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (https://doi.org/10.1057/s41599-026-09328-9). The table reports levels of agreement with three perceived self-perceptive and relational consequences of influencer-content consumption (upward comparison with influencers' lives, perceived inferiority, and preference for mediated interaction over time spent with others) by sexual orientation (heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, non-normative, and prefer not to say) and age group (14–17, 18–21 and 22–24 years), measured on a five-point Likert scale. Data were collected through a quota-based online panel survey administered to 1,800 adolescents and young people aged 14–24 residing in Spain between October and November 2024, with post-stratification weighting by geographic area, sex and age.
</dc:description>
